Events and competitions - where to start

What each kind of event and competition is for, and which guide to follow next.

For everyone Updated 11 Oct 2026

The short version

RSClanTrack gives a clan two ways to get members doing things together:

  • Events are things you turn up to or take part in: a boss trip, a skilling night, a bingo, a drop race. They live on the clan's Calendar.
  • Competitions are gains races: who earns the most XP (or the most of a hiscore activity) between two dates. Nobody submits anything. The site reads everyone's stats and ranks them.

If people need to prove something with a screenshot, you want an event. If the game's hiscores can measure it on their own, you want a competition.

Which one do I want?

The four event formats

Every event has a format, chosen when it is created. The format decides what members can do on its page.

  • Standard Activity: a calendar entry with a sign-up list. Members press Register Interest. Afterwards staff can take attendance.
  • Boss Team Sign-up: a standard event with a role planner. Members pick the roles they can play and the host arranges the team.
  • Points/Drop Log: a list of targets, each worth points. Entrants submit evidence, staff approve it, and a leaderboard adds it up.
  • Bingo Board: every entrant gets a board of tiles drawn from a pool of tasks. Completing tiles fills the board.

Points and bingo events can be entered solo or as teams. See Teams and registration.

Website or Discord?

Almost everything can be done from either. Each guide shows both where both exist.

  • Members can sign up, leave, submit evidence, pick boss roles and join competitions with bot commands.
  • Staff can create standard events, boss teams and simple competitions from Discord. Bingo, points events, repeating events, team competitions and Skill of the Week are set up on the website, because they need more settings than a command can hold.

Every bot command is listed in the Discord command reference.

All times on the site and in the bot are game time (UTC), the same clock the game uses, unless a field says "Local Time".
