Tracked tasks

Make a bingo task or points target complete by itself from a player's real gains, with no screenshot and no reviewing.

For clan staff Updated 11 Oct 2026

What it is

Normally an entrant proves a task with a screenshot and staff approve it. A tracked task skips both steps. The site watches each entrant's RuneScape stats and completes the task the moment they have gained enough during the event.

Use tracked tasks for anything the game already measures. Keep manual evidence for everything else.

What can be tracked

Kind Counts Example task
XP gained XP earned in a skill "Gain 2,000,000 Mining XP"
Boss kills Kills of one boss "Kill Vorago 10 times"
Drop A particular drop "Get a Seismic wand"
Citadel cap Capping at the clan citadel "Cap at the citadel"
Hiscore activity A hiscores activity score "Complete 20 elite clues"
Manual evidence Nothing: needs a screenshot Anything else

Not every boss or drop can be tracked. See the full list in Trackable bosses and drops.

Make a task tracked

For a new points target

  1. Open the event and press Manage Tasks.
  2. Under Add Targets, set How it's checked to the kind you want.
  3. Choose what to count (the skill, boss, drop or activity) and the amount needed.
  4. Fill in the name and points and press Save Target.

For an existing task or bingo task

  1. On Manage Tasks, find the task in the list.
  2. Press Track automatically.
  3. Choose the kind, what to count and the amount, then press Save.

The task now shows Tracked automatically. Press it again to change or remove the tracking.

How progress is counted

  • Only gains made after the event starts count. Someone already at 50 kills needs 10 more for a "10 kills" task, not zero.
  • Checks run every few minutes, so completion isn't instant. Entrants see their progress beside the task as it updates.
  • In a team, the team's members are added together. Five members each gaining 400k Mining XP complete a 2M task.
  • Points are awarded once. When the task completes, the entrant gets the tile or the points, the same as an approved submission.
  • A drop task needs one drop. You can ask for one named drop, or any drop from a boss.
  • A hidden points target isn't checked until it is revealed.
  • Your decision wins. A tile or target you have rejected isn't completed by the tracker afterwards.
  • Late readings still count. The site keeps checking for two hours after the event ends, so gains made in time but read late aren't lost.

What entrants see

A tracked task shows Tracked with their progress, such as "1.2M / 2M XP". There is no Submit button on it.

For boss kills and drops, entrants can still send a screenshot if the tracking can't see their profile. See the next section.

Limits to know about

Boss kills and drops need a public profile. They are read from each player's RuneMetrics adventurer's log. A player whose profile is private is invisible to the tracker, and their kills and drops won't count. Tell entrants before the event.

  • Only drops the adventurer's log records can be tracked. Common drops aren't logged by the game. If a drop isn't in the list of trackable drops, use manual evidence.
  • Only some bosses are in the kills list. See the list of trackable bosses. For one that is missing you can type its name, which works only if it matches the name the log uses.
  • Kills rely on the log too. The log holds a limited number of recent entries, so a very active player who isn't checked for a long stretch could have entries pushed out. For high-stakes tasks, keep screenshots as a backup.
  • XP and hiscore activities come from the hiscores, which are reliable but update only when the player logs out or hops.

Common problems

A player says they finished but the task is still open. Check, in this order: did the gains happen after the start time, is their profile public (for kills and drops), and have they logged out to the lobby so the hiscores update. Then wait for the next check.

The task completed for one team mate's gains only. Make sure the others are actually on the team. Open the team's edit page and check the roster.

I picked the wrong amount. Press Tracked automatically on the task and change it. Progress is measured from the event's start, so the new amount applies to everyone fairly.

I want to pay out before the tracker catches up. On a points event, use Award Directly on the target. On a bingo, open the board and use Verify / Submit on the tile.
