Run a points event

Build a list of scoring targets, decide how they are revealed and claimed, and run the leaderboard from start to finish.

For clan staff Updated 11 Oct 2026

What it is

A points event is a scoreboard. You write a list of targets, each worth a number of points: "Any Araxxi leg piece, 50 points", "99 in any skill, 100 points". Entrants send evidence, you approve it, and the leaderboard adds up the points. It suits drop races, achievement hunts and anything where different feats deserve different rewards.

Worked example: a week-long "Boss Drop Race" for teams of three, with 12 targets revealed two per day.

Before you start

Decide three things:

  • Solo or teams? It is chosen when the event is created.
  • Can a target be claimed more than once? One-off targets suit achievements. Repeats suit "every drop counts".
  • Does everyone see every target? You can deal each entrant a random handful instead.

Create the event

  1. On the Calendar tab, press Schedule Event.
  2. Fill in the name, Starts At and Ends At. Set an end time: it closes the event and fixes the final standings.
  3. Set Event Format to Points/Drop Log.
  4. Set Participation to Solo Participants or Team Based.
  5. Under Initial Task List, add your first targets. You can add more later.
    • Individual: type a name and points, press Add Task.
    • Bulk Add: set Default Points Per Task, paste one target per line, and press Import Tasks.
  6. Open Advanced Settings and set the options below.
  7. Press Schedule Event.

Points events can't be created from Discord. They need the website's form.

Settings explained

Tasks per person

Leave it blank and everyone gets every target.

Put in a number and each entrant is dealt that many targets at random when they register. Two teams can then hold different lists, which stops everyone farming the same boss.

Allow repeated submissions

  • Off: each target can be claimed once. It locks while a submission is pending or approved, and unlocks only if staff reject it.
  • On: the same target can be submitted again and again, earning its points each time.

Other settings that matter here

Setting What it does
Allow Late Registration Entrants can join after the event has started.
Allow Member Registration Off means only staff can add entrants. Use it when you are picking the teams.
Max Team Size The most members a team can have. Team events only.
Restrict Board Visibility Each entrant's task list is private to them, the hosts and staff.
Allow Guests People outside the clan can enter.

Manage the targets

Open the event and press Manage Tasks.

Add targets

Under Add Targets:

  1. Choose How it's checked. Manual evidence needs a screenshot. The other choices make the target complete by itself: see Tracked tasks.
  2. Type the Target Name and its Points.
  3. Optionally set Reveal At, to keep the target hidden until then.
  4. Press Save Target.

To add many at once, switch to Bulk. Paste one target per line. Write Name:Points on a line to give that target its own value instead of the default.

Reveal targets over time

Hidden targets keep an event interesting past the first day.

  • One target: set its Reveal At when adding or editing it.
  • All of them, spaced out: under Sequential Reveal, set Every to a number of Hours, Days or Weeks and press Apply Sequential Reveal. Targets are revealed one after another from the event's start. Tick Randomise Order to shuffle which comes first.

The Scoring Rubric list shows each target as Always Visible, Revealed, or Hidden until a date.

Edit a target

Press the edit button on the target in the Scoring Rubric. Clear Reveal At to make it always visible.

While it is running

  • Approve evidence. Submissions arrive under Pending Approvals. See Review submissions.
  • Award a target yourself. Under a target, use Award Directly, pick the participant, and they get the points with no evidence.
  • Adjust a score. Under Award Points, pick the entrant, enter the points and a reason, and press Apply. A minus number takes points away. Use it for bonuses and penalties that aren't on the list.

The Leaderboard on the event page updates as you approve. It stays locked until the event starts.

In Discord

  • /event board posts the leaderboard. Add view: Task List for the targets.
  • If the event has its own channel, the bot posts standings and announces each target as it unlocks.
  • /staff event submit sends in evidence on someone's behalf.

Setting the event's channel and per-team channels is covered in Set up Discord for events.

When it ends

The leaderboard stays on the event page as the final result. Add winners or prize notes under Event Notes in the attendance panel, and they show on the event for everyone.

Common problems

An entrant says a target is missing. It may be hidden until its reveal time, or they weren't dealt it because Tasks Per Person is set.

Someone can't resubmit. With repeats off, a target stays locked while its submission is pending or approved. Reject the old one to free it.

I need to change the points on a target after approvals. Edit the target for future claims, then use Award Points to correct anyone already paid at the old value.
