Join a competition

How to enter a clan competition, how your gains are counted, and how to read the standings.

For members Updated 11 Oct 2026

What a competition is

A competition is a race between two dates. It tracks one thing, usually XP in one or more skills, sometimes a hiscore activity such as clue scrolls. The site reads everyone's RuneScape stats and ranks them by how much they gained during the competition.

There is nothing to submit. You play, and the standings update.

Do I need to join?

It depends on how the competition was set up.

The competition says What it means
Whole clan Every clan member is entered already. Nothing to do.
Sign-ups open You enter yourself. See below.
Late joiners welcome Sign-ups stay open while it runs.
Neither Staff pick the entrants or teams. Ask them to add you.

Join on the website

  1. Open your clan's Competitions page and choose the competition.
  2. Under Sign-ups are open, type your RuneScape name.
  3. Press Join Competition.

No login is needed, only the name.

Join in Discord

  • Type /comp join and pick the competition. If your Discord isn't linked to a RuneScape name, add it in the rsn option.
  • Or press the Join button on the competition's post in your clan's server.

/comp list shows what is running and coming up.

How your gains are counted

  • From the start, not from when you join. The site takes a reading of every entrant when the competition begins and compares it with your latest reading. If you join late, your gains still count from the start.
  • Only the tracked skill or activity counts. A Mining competition ignores your Fishing XP.
  • Several skills are either added into one total, or shown one skill at a time. The competition page lets you switch between them.
  • Standings update as your stats are read. That happens on a schedule, and the hiscores only refresh when you log out to the lobby. If your number looks behind, log out and give it some time.

Players the site can't read, such as a name that changed and hasn't been picked up yet, show as Untracked. Tell your clan's staff if that is you.

Read the standings

Open the competition's page.

  • Event Status shows the time left, or the time until it starts.
  • The table ranks every entrant by gain. In a team competition, switch between Team Standings and Individual.
  • Live Status beside each player shows when their stats were last read.
  • Before the start, everyone shows 0. Tracking begins when the competition does.

In Discord, if the competition has a channel, the bot posts a top-10 board there and refreshes it every hour.

When it ends

The page shows Finalizing Leaderboard for a short while. Every entrant gets one last fresh reading so the result doesn't depend on timing. Then it shows Official Results, and the bot posts the final standings.

Common problems

"We don't track a player called ... yet." Check the spelling. If it is right, ask staff to add you to the clan's roster on the site first.

"... isn't in the clan, and this competition is for members only." Guests aren't allowed in this one.

"This competition has already started, so sign-ups are closed." Late joining is off. Ask staff if they can add you.

"... joined the clan after this started, so they're in from the next one." A whole-clan competition can be set to keep out members who joined mid-way.

My gains look too low. Log out to the lobby so the hiscores update, then wait for the next reading. Gains made before the start time don't count.
