Link your RuneScape name

How to verify in your clan's Discord server so the bot knows who you are and gives you your roles.

For members Updated 11 Oct 2026

This is about linking in your clan's Discord server, for members who haven't made an account on the RSClanTrack website.

Already verified on the website? Then you are done. You signed in there with Discord, so the bot already knows who you are and you don't need to do any of this. See Get started.

Linking tells the bot which RuneScape player you are. Once it knows, it can:

  • Give you your clan's member role and your rank role.
  • Sign you up for events and competitions with one command.
  • Count your Discord activity towards rank points, if your clan uses that.
  • Show your player card to others with /whois.

It takes a minute, and you do it once.

How to verify

Your clan picks one of three ways. You will be told which when you join.

By direct message

  1. The bot sends you a private message when you join.
  2. Reply to it with your exact RuneScape name. Nothing else.

No message? You may have direct messages from server members switched off. Turn them on for the server, or ask staff to link you.

With a command

  1. In the channel your clan tells you to use, type /verify.
  2. Put your RuneScape name in the rsn box.
  3. Press Enter.

In a verification channel

  1. Open the verification channel. Its pinned message explains what to do.
  2. Type your RuneScape name and send it.
  3. The bot links it and deletes your message, so the channel stays tidy.

Getting the name right

  • Use your current name, exactly as it appears in game.
  • Spaces matter. An underscore is treated the same as a space.
  • Use the character that is in the clan, not an alt.

What happens next

  • You get your roles, usually within moments.
  • If your clan syncs nicknames, your server nickname changes to your RuneScape name.
  • If your clan requires it, you may also be asked to verify on the RSClanTrack website before roles are given.

If your name has a staff rank

Linking a name with an admin-level clan rank needs approval from one of your clan's administrators first. This stops someone else claiming your rank. You will get your roles once they approve.

If you change your RuneScape name

RSClanTrack usually spots a name change by itself and carries your history, points and rank over. If your roles or nickname look wrong afterwards, tell your clan's staff.

Common problems

"Player Not Found." The name isn't on the RuneScape hiscores. Check the spelling. A brand-new account may not be on the hiscores yet.

"Already Linked." That name is linked to another Discord account. If that isn't you, tell staff.

I can't see /verify. You may not have permission to use commands in that channel. Try the channel your clan pointed you to, or ask staff.

I verified but have no roles. You may not be in the clan on RuneScape yet, in which case you get the guest role if there is one. Otherwise ask staff to check their role settings.

I'm not in the clan, can I still link? Yes. Guests can link too and are given the guest role if the clan has one.
